Une ode aux espèces disparues. Fidèle au style qui a fait son succès, la compagnie Système Castafiore mêle la fable, la vidéo et les techniques imposantes du théâtre à l’italienne, pour faire surgir un somptueux spectacle chorégraphié et chanté. Dans cette parade foisonnante, l’apparition de silhouettes mi-humaines, mi-animales s’apparente presque à de la magie. On y croise des créatures aux pinces gigantesques ou aux cornes et bois surdimensionnés. On y rencontre aussi des musicien·nes et des prêtres ancestraux enivré·es par les mélopées d’une liturgie enchanteresse. Ces êtres semblent participer à un rite funéraire d’un monde en perdition. Un monde lointain, et à la fois si proche.

Kreaturen, halb Mensch, halb Tier, besiedeln die Bühne, sind umgeben von langbeinigen, stacheligen Fabelwesen, werden umschwirrt von priesterlichen Gesängen. Begehen wir hier das Ende einer Welt, die in Trümmern liegt? Oder feiern wir die Entstehung einer Welt, die ganz anders ist als die uns bekannte? Es sind zärtliche, märchengleiche Imaginationen, denen sich Kantus hingibt, beseelt von der Melancholie eines Tim Burton.

A song for the extinct species. True to the style that made its success, company Système Castafiore blends tale, video, and imposing techniques from Italian-style theater to make a sumptuous choreography appear. In this prolific parade, the appearance of half-human, half-animal silhouettes almost resembles magic. There, you come across creatures with gigantic claws or with oversized horns and antlers. You also encounter musicians and ancestral priests intoxicated by the chants of an enchanting liturgy. Those beings seem to be participating in a funeral rite of a world on the road to perdition. A world that’s far away, and so close at the same time.
