« Pour toujours. » Vêtus de longues jupes blanches, cinq augustes personnages dévisagent le public. Sont-ils des êtres de chair et de sang ? Des dieux olympiens ? Là pour toujours, ou simples mortels ? Aériens même lorsqu’ils tombent, mélodieux même lorsqu’ils gémissent, harmonieux même lorsqu’ils font mine d’expirer, ils jouent et rejouent leur propre mort. Les scènes d’agonie se multiplient, à grand renfort d’hémoglobine. Partant de la vision d’enfants sur la mort et sur l’après, l’artiste suisse Tabea Martin imagine une chorégraphie cathartique et un brin déjantée qui interroge nos représentations sur le sujet, et nous fait plus mourir de rire que de peur !

Was heißt das schon: für immer und ewig? In Forever sucht die Schweizer Choreografin Tabea Martin nach Antworten auf die große Frage bezüglich des Sterbens und der Ewigkeit. Hierfür hat sie während der Konzeptionsphase mit Kindern zusammengearbeitet, die ihre ganz eigenen Vorstellungen von Anfang und Ende haben. Entstanden ist ein befreiendes Stück für Kinder und Erwachsene, in dem fünf weißgekleidete Personen das Leben und den Tod auf die Bühne bringen. Sie bewegen sich mal wie stolze Götter, mal wie gramgebeugte Menschen, feiern ihr Dasein und spielen wieder und wieder ihr eigenes Ableben.

Dressed in long white skirts, five proud characters stare at the audience. Are they beings of flesh and blood? Olympian gods? There forever, or mere mortals? Ethereal even when they fall, melodious even when they moan, harmonious even when they pretend to perish, they play and replay their own death all over again. The scenes of agony multiply, with a liberal amount of blood. Based on children’s outlook on death and the after, Swiss artist Tabea Martin invents a cathartic and a tad off-the-wall choreography that questions our representations on the subject, and makes us rather die of laughter than scared to death!
